Interns will delve into both theoretical and practical facets of photography, including camera fundamentals, manual controls (shutter speed, aperture, ISO), and focusing techniques. A comprehensive understanding of composition, lighting, flash utilization, capturing motion, night photography, and more will be imparted during this intensive one-week course. Subsequently, under the guidance of our seasoned photojournalists, interns will venture into the field for hands-on photography practice. Cultural and landscape photography tours, as well as night and news photography exercises, are regularly organized to hone practical skills.
Freelance Photojournalism Internship
Dive deeper into the world of photojournalism with our freelance internship spanning one to five months. Collaborate closely with experienced photojournalists who will guide you in crafting impactful photo stories, documentaries, and features.A cultural orientation will empower interns to identify and explore the societal nuances that drive issues like child labor, human trafficking, exploitation, and cultural events. Working closely with the internship coordinator, students will craft a comprehensive work plan outlining the story angle and location. Engaging assignments will range from covering cultural events such as Hindu weddings and funerals to capturing the pulse of city life through rallies and protests.In the quest for authenticity, selected photos may be shared with local media outlets such as national and local newspapers, and online news portals. Esteemed publications like The Kathmandu Post, The Rising Nepal, My Republica, and The Himalayan Times provide an opportunity for interns to experience the fast-paced atmosphere of a newsroom.
